Vera Cruz Amethyst is no longer mined for, it was once mined for in Mexico but the mine has been shut down for many years now, which had not affected finding this type of Amethyst, but as the years have progressed they are starting to become harder and more expensive to find. 

Amethyst is said to be a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to promote calm, balance, and peace. It is also used to eliminate impatience. It is also believed that this crystal is wonderful to use if you frequently find yourself in situations where you are unsure how to take action because of your emotions.
