This is a man made stone that is created by melting Quartz in the presence of another compound called “a flux”. As there is so much Quartz around, they melt it down and remove all of the imperfections and add in colours such as red, blue, green and yellow. Red is most common followed by blue. More often than not though you will find smelting quartz is not quartz at all and Is actually melted down glass with the same added colours.
